They have developed a business built around the presentation of high quality seminars. Jill and Owen focus on the non-financial aspects of retirement and lifestyle.

Their work has also been extremely popular and well received with expatriates and people wanting to move to Australia.

Owen Weeks

Owen has spent more than 30 years providing advice to retirees and people planning their retirement. He is a honorary fellow of the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA), a fellow of the National Institute of Accountants, a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), and among his many qualifications holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Melbourne University.

Owen Weeks is the Executive Director of Lifestyle Matters. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce, a Diploma of Financial Planning and is a Certified Financial Planner. In 1992 he sold his business to William M Mercer, and helped grow the business Australia wide. Owen was made a world-wide partner.

One of the little known facts about Owen is he loves cars….in fact his very first academic qualification he received was a Certificate in Automotive Engineering, and in 1968 he won an award from General Motors Holden for the design of the car of the future! Owen competes in tarmac rallies such as the Grand Prix Rally and the Targa Tasmania Rally, and is building a collection of modern classic cars.

Jill Weeks

The other Director of Lifestyle Matters is Jill Weeks. She has been an author and educator for 20 years. She holds an Arts Degree with a major in psychology, along with a Diploma in Financial Planning, a Diploma of Teaching and several other related qualifications. Jill is a Rotarian. She was asked to join Rotary after she won a Business Award that the Rotary Club held….’she liked the company so much she joined!’ She has also Chaired her local Council Business Network.

Not widely known is that Jill holds a ‘Heavy Truck / Bus’ licence(!), a Sign Language qualification (there is no correlation with the bus/ truck licence!), and has been an Advocate for a disabled person and owned a brumby horse. In her university days Jill was a cook for firefighters in the Australian bush, and a tutor to name but a few jobs!
